Chinese Baked Ginger Chicken

Chicken legs oven baked in a ginger, lemon juice, red chili powder, thyme, olive oil, salt and pepper sauce.
Ingredients -

6 Chicken Legs
2 tablespoons Crushed Ginger
1/2 cup Fresh Lemon Juice
2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
1/4 teaspoon Coarse Salt
1/4 teaspoon Fresh Ground Ground Pepper
1/4 teaspoon Thyme
Extra Virgin Olive Oil

 
Preparation:

1. Combine crushed ginger, fresh lemon juice, red chili powder, salt pepper, thyme, and olive oil in jar with tight fitting lid. Shake well.

2. Let sauce mixture stand at room temperature 1 hour. Shake occasionally to blend flavors.

3. Preheat oven to 400 F.

4. Arrange chicken legs in shallow baking dish in a single layer.

5. Pour sauce over chicken.

6. Bake 1 hour.

7. Turn legs. Reduce heat to 350. Bake additional 25 minutes.

8. Serve immediately.

 



Cooking Tip
Chicken Legs
For larger parties, triple the recipe and add 6 thighs and 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts to the recipes.

Chinese Cooking Tip
Hot Oil
When deep-frying, use a thermometer to ensure proper cooking temperature. If you aren't equipped with a thermometer insert a chopstick or other cooking utensil into the oil. If the oil sizzles around it, begin cooking.
